Osun governor says critics are jealous of his dancing

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed criticism of his dancing, insisting that the hobby does not affect his ability to govern the state. Adeleke made the remarks during the Arise Town Hall for Osun governorship candidates ahead of the state election, where he maintained that he remains committed to his responsibilities despite his public displays of dancing.

Defending his lifestyle, the governor said there is a time for work and a time for recreation, stressing that dancing does not interfere with his duties. “Nobody can stop me from dancing. As I’m dancing, I’m working,” Adeleke said, adding that although he may dance publicly, he remains a serious and prudent person when carrying out his official responsibilities.

Adeleke also attributed some of the criticism from members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to jealousy, joking that they could not dance like him. He further criticised his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, claiming that the former governor had yet to overcome the pain of his previous election defeat. Adeleke, who is seeking re-election, maintained that dancing remains simply a personal hobby and does not affect his performance as governor.
